Giving journalism and science the time they deserve

It is easy to hype health research without intending to do so. Newspapers and online media aren’t the only culprits. Even respected health and medical sources are doing so. Cleveland Clinic’s Twitter account recently postedthis gem:“The health benefits of coffee (regular and decaf) will amaze you!”

There’s nothing equivocal about that tweet. Only if followers clicked the link andread the articlewould they learn all of the caveats — the researchers only call this “an intriguing association”; the use of sugar, cream or syrups could limit…
